Day of the Dead is an ancient Aztec custom of celebrating and honoring ancestors who’ve passed. This custom continues today. During the two-day celebration, a candle-lit alter (called an ofrenda) is created to help ancestors’ spirits find their way home. The alter is laden with Mexican Marigolds, photos of loved ones, incense, sweets and your ancestors’ favorite foods.
